Capes Sokol Welcomes 2016 Summer Associates

Capes Sokol is pleased to welcome its 2016 Summer Associate Class, Alexandra L. Hemphill, William Kistner, and Katherine D. Landfried. The program is designed such that our Summer Associates assist in the preparation of substantive work product on behalf of our clients, and are additionally offered an experiential component to acquaint them with aspects of the legal practice which are rarely touched upon in the academic setting of law school.

Alexandra L. Hemphill

Alexandra L. Hemphill attends Washington University School of Law and will graduate in May, 2017. In addition to her legal studies, Alexa is the Chief Primary Editor of the Global Studies Law Review and is a member of the Hearing Panel for the Honors Council. This past year, she was Donations Chair for the Washington University School of Law Women’s Law Caucus annual spring auction benefiting the 2L Public Interest Program. Originally from Jefferson City, Alexa received her Bachelor in Business Administrations-Finance and Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Language from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

William E. Kistner

William E. Kistner attends University of Missouri School of Law and will graduate in May, 2017. A member of the Dean’s List, Bill is an Associate of the Missouri Law Review and was a Crahan Fellow in the Summer of 2015. In addition, Bill was in the Top 10 Oral Advocates of the 1L Moot Court Competition and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award® in Death Penalty, Advocacy & Research, and Contracts II. Originally from St. Louis, Bill graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Katherine D. Landfried

Katherine D. Landfried attends Saint Louis University School of Law and will graduate in May, 2017. A member of the Dean’s List, Katie will be Editor-in-Chief for the Saint Louis University Public Law Review for 2016-17. Katie is a Pupillage Member of the Theodore McMillian American Inn of Court and is President of the Criminal Law Society. In addition to her legal studies, Katie argued an employment discrimination appeal in the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals during her 2L year. Originally from Edwardsville, Illinois., Katie graduated from McKendree University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

Capes Sokol Summer Associate Program

Capes Sokol’s Summer Associate Program provides second-year law students with challenging assignments which require them to work together with Shareholders and Associates in the real work of the firm. Summer Associates learn to address the practical problems our clients face under the guidance of our experienced attorneys. Capes Sokol commits significant resources and effort to conduct a high-quality Summer Associate Program that is both enriching for participants and beneficial to the firm as a whole.
