Litigation Paralegal
Capes Sokol – St. Louis, Missouri

Capes Sokol is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our litigation team.

We are a St. Louis-based law firm that combines sophisticated legal work with the collaborative environment of a mid-sized firm. Our attorneys handle complex business, employment, real estate, and other civil litigation, and our paralegals are an important part of the case team from the early stages of a matter through trial.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, anticipates what needs to happen next, and is comfortable managing the many moving pieces that come with active litigation.

What You'll Do

You will work directly with attorneys and clients on a variety of litigation matters, including:

  • Manage case files, calendars, deadlines, filings, and document-intensive matters.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
  • File documents with state and federal courts and monitor filing and case deadlines.
  • Coordinate discovery, including document collection, review, production, and eDiscovery.
  • Review and analyze records, evidence, and legal documents for relevance and accuracy.
  • Conduct legal and factual research and prepare summaries, chronologies, exhibits, and other case materials.
  • Gather information and coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors.
  • Prepare for and assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Anticipate upcoming deadlines and case needs and help keep matters moving forward.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of substantive civil litigation paralegal experience.
  • Strong discovery and eDiscovery experience.
  • Knowledge of state and federal court procedures and electronic filing.
  • Strong technology, organization, research, and case-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, dependable professional who is comfortable taking ownership of their work and working closely with attorneys and clients.

Why Capes Sokol?

At Capes Sokol, you get the sophisticated work of a larger firm without getting lost in a large organization. Our size allows our paralegals to work directly with attorneys, become meaningfully involved in their cases, and see the impact of their work.

We value collaboration, professionalism, and people who take pride in doing good work. We offer competitive compensation, performance-based bonus opportunities, comprehensive benefits, a 401(k), professional development support, and workplace flexibility following onboarding.

If you are an experienced litigation paralegal who enjoys challenging work, managing complex matters, and being an important part of the case team, we’d like to hear from you.
