Sheila Greenbaum Elected as Firm Director and Shareholder

(St. Louis, MO) – Sheila Greenbaum of Capes, Sokol, Goodman & Sarachan, P.C., has been elected as a Director and Shareholder of the law firm. The announcement was made by David Capes, Principal and Shareholder. “Ms. Greenbaum provides a wealth of expertise and insight in our firm,” says Capes. “Her background allows her to apply extensive experience in the public sector to private practice.”

Ms. Greenbaum handles State and Federal appellate cases, complex civil matters and conceptual analysis. Joining the firm in January 2004, she brought 30 years of legal experience and community involvement. She was the recent recipient of the distinguished Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award at the International Lion of Judah Conference in Washington, D.C., honoring her philanthropy and volunteer leadership. She was also recently elected to the national board for United Jewish Communities (UJC) and serves on the national board of the A.C.L.U.

Locally, Ms. Greenbaum has been the recipient of the David Grosberg Young Leadership Award and the Woman of Valor Award, both from the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, where she serves as vice president. She participated in Leadership St. Louis and serves on the selection committee for FOCUS St. Louis.

Previously, Ms. Greenbaum chaired the State of Missouri Deferred Compensation Commission and worked as the Democratic Director of the Board of Elections, City of St. Louis. She served as Interim Director and Instructor at Saint Louis University School of Law, and worked as Senior Staff Attorney in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit and for the Federal Government in numerous positions: Presiding Official of the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board, Chief Regional Attorney of Region VII in the Department of Education/Office for Civil Rights, and Assistant Regional Attorney in the U.S. Department of Health, Education & Welfare.

Ms. Greenbaum holds a Bachelor of Arts from Case Western Reserve University and a Juris Doctor (with distinction) from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law.
