Schwerin Receives 2017 MOCPA Outstanding Young Professional Award

Michelle F. Schwerin, an Associate of Capes Sokol, was chosen by the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MOCPA)  selection committee as the 2017 Impact Award – Outstanding Young Professional Awardee.

The Outstanding Young Professional award honors and supports CPAs 35 and under who serve as emerging and dynamic leaders in the profession.  Candidates for this award are evaluated based on their active involvement in the profession, support of the CPA credential, and professional volunteerism.

“Michelle’s work both professionally and serving the industry in which she works as a volunteer is unsurpassed,” said Luke Pope, Principal at CliftonLarsonAllen and one of Michelle’s nominators. “Her work ethic and dedication to her peers continually shine through in all that she does. As she takes on a larger role as a tax attorney she has continued to serve her fellow CPAs by furthering their technical abilities, educating our future professionals and doing her part to ensure the Missouri Society of CPAs is a great resource for the professionals of our state.”

The MOCPA Impact Awards are presented annually to CPAs, “who go above and beyond the call of duty to make a difference in the profession and the community.” They recognize members in the following categories: Outstanding Visionary, Outstanding Diversity Advancement. Outstanding Educator, Outstanding Public Service. Outstanding Young Professional, and Women to Watch.

Michelle will be presented with the Outstanding Young Professional Award at the MOCPA Awards Celebrations on Nov. 16 in St. Louis.
