Sabin Presented at LLC Clinic Hosted by St. Louis VLAA

On April 8, 2017, Brian Sabin, an attorney in the Capes Sokol Business and Finance, and Real Estate Practice Area, gave a presentation on the basics of limited liability companies at an LLC Clinic organized by St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts (VLAA).

The event took place at the Regional Arts Commission building located at 6128 Delmar Boulevard, in the heart of The Delmar Loop, overlooking many projects for which Capes Sokol has furnished legal representation, including most recently the Delmar Hall concert venue.

The LLC Clinic was attended by a wide variety of artists that either formed or may soon form limited liability companies.  The LLC Clinic consisted of Mr. Sabin’s presentation, followed by an opportunity for attendees to participate in a 15-minute one-on-one consultation with a volunteer attorney.  Attendees requiring more significant legal services were encouraged to apply for free legal assistance through the VLAA.

VLAA connects artists and arts organizations of every discipline with accountants and lawyers who donate their time and expertise to help their clients navigate the complicated world of finance and law.  VLAA also provides information and skills training designed to help the arts community develop sound business practices.

Mr. Sabin, as well as other Capes Sokol attorneys, regularly represent artists referred by VLAA as pro bono clients as part of Capes Sokol’s commitment to the St. Louis community.
