Program Description:

Although the economy is slowly starting to open back up, employers are still trying to navigate the multitude of new laws and regulations related to unemployment benefits.  Not only must employers have an understanding of these laws, they now must figure out their interrelationship with the new entitlements to benefits created under the CARES Act and the interaction between unemployment benefits and PPP loans.  Capes Sokol attorneys Kelley Farrell and Traci Pupillo provide employers with practical guidance on dealing with these issues and more during a one-hour webinar.

04.21.2020: COVID-19 Response Legislation – Economic Relief for Small Businesses

Program Description:

This course will briefly cover the requirements, eligibility, and terms of the various forms of economic relief for small businesses contained in the recently passed Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (“CARES”) legislation. The course will address issues concerning the use of the funds and terms of forgivability, as described in the legislation and SBA guidance.

  • Understand eligibility and requirements for various relief programs offered by the CARES Act.
  • Review temporary changes to the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program and Paycheck Protection Program Loans and address issues concerning the use of the funds and terms of forgivability, as described in the legislation and SBA guidance
  • Learn about the Employer Payroll Tax Delay and the Employee Retention Payroll Tax Credit.

Certificate Policies & Information

Group Live Presentations: To receive a Certificate of Attendance, participants must check-in and check-out with the on-site representative at the event.

Group Internet Based Presentations: To receive a Certificate of Attendance, participants must log in under the name they registered with and that they want on their certificate.

Additional Details:

  • A certificate will only be issued in the name used to register for the presentation and will be sent to the email address provided at registration.
  • If you have requested a Certificate of Attendance, you will receive a link to download your certificate via email within 10 business days. Please note, certificates are distributed via email and delivery may be impacted by your organization’s spam filter settings.
  • If you do not receive your certificate within 30 days, please contact Alexandra Schenk at schenk@capessokol.com, and provide your name and email address.

Webinar Information

Webinar Length:

  • Participants must be logged into the live seminar for at least 50 minutes. Time prior to the start of the webinar or after the webinar does not quality.
  • If individuals are late to the presentation by more than 5 minutes, they may not be issued a certificate.
  • Per NASBA, we are unable to issue certificates for viewing times of less than 50 minutes.

Technology:

  • Participants are encouraged to use their PC and not their cell phone or tablet to ensure their attendance is captured and they can participate in polling questions.
  • Due to NASBA participation requirements, participants must answer the polling questions that arise during the presentation.

Capes Sokol Cancellation Policy

  • Capes Sokol reserves the right to cancel an event due to inclement weather or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If Capes Sokol cancels or postpones an event, registrants will be notified via email.
  • Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either cancel or transfer their registration to the same event at the new, future date.

Individual Cancellation Policy

If you are registered for a webinar or presentation and are unable to attend, please let Capes Sokol know at least 48 hours before the event date.

Refund Policy

Due to there being no cost associated with attendance at any of our learning events, there will be no refunds issued.
