Experience at Work

A seasoned litigator, Nick practices in civil and commercial litigation. Nick advises individuals and organizational clients to achieve the best possible results through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or trial. Nick understands what it takes to properly prepare cases for trial and win, while at the same time listening to the client and focusing on the strategy that is best for the client. He advises clients to prevent and minimize litigation where possible. Where litigation is necessary, Nick draws on his experience in all stages of litigation to provide practical and value-driven advice to help his clients solve their most challenging legal problems.

Nick has tried numerous jury and bench trials to successful verdicts. He has also successfully prepared, argued and obtained summary judgments for his clients involving myriad issues. In addition, he has successfully defended his clients in the appellate courts of Missouri and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

In the Community

In April of 2022, Governor Mike Parson appointed Nick to serve as one of five commissioners on the Missouri Lottery Commission, which governs the Missouri Lottery. Nick also serves on the Board of Directors for the Phi Kappa Theta of Columbia Alumni Association.  Nick and his wife, Amanda, live in a suburb of St. Louis where they are raising their three children.  In addition to practicing law, Nick enjoys coaching his kids’ sports teams, fishing, BBQing, and spending time with his friends and family.
