Michael has served as counsel to numerous businesses facing corporate governance disputes, regulatory issues, claims arising out of real estate investments, and breach of contract liability. He has also served as counsel in a wide range of employment cases involving universities and schools facing claims ranging from age, sex, and religious discrimination to unfair and deceptive practices as well as businesses facing non-solicit/non-compete issues and trade secret violations.
In addition to being a well-respected commercial and employment litigator, Michael has significant experience representing manufacturing, agriculture and consumer-product oriented organizations in environmental contamination and product liability cases. Michael’s clients regularly rely on his experience handling scientific and medical issues in handling both commercial and mass tort litigation.
Prior to joining Capes Sokol, Michael spent six years working at an international law firm where he regularly worked with clients to resolve complex, multi-party, civil litigation matters including employment-related matters, higher education disputes, corporate governance disputes, wrongful death and personal injury cases.
After graduating from law school, Michael served as a federal law clerk for the Honorable Joe L. Heaton in the Western District of Oklahoma.
