Experience at Work
As a Lawyer with an MBA, Michael is able to bring acute business perspective to each client’s legal needs. Michael joined the firm as a member of Capes Sokol’s 2021 Summer Associate class and continued to work with the firm as a Law Clerk during his last year of school. Michael intends to combine his business background with his interest in trial work to pursue commercial litigation. He is also interested in arbitration, mediation, employment law, and environmental law.
Prior to attending law school, Michael was a commercial insurance underwriter at Chubb, earning the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation. After completing his MBA, Michael worked with several start-up and early-stage business ventures, most recently as the Chief Operating Officer of Athlete Venture. This business background gives Michael a unique perspective that enables him to collaborate effectively and efficiently with clients and colleagues, while utilizing decision-making and problem-solving skills.
During 2020, Michael worked as an intern in the legal department at Fidelity Investments, where he supported Fidelity’s in-house attorneys on transactional and litigation matters.
In the Community
Michael was a staff editor on the Washington University Global Studies Law Review, a student-edited legal journal dedicated to publishing superior works by renowned international and comparative law scholars. He is also a member of Phi Delta Phi, an international legal honor society.
A native of the east coast, Michael is actively pursuing opportunities to get involved in the St. Louis community. In the past he volunteered to coach the M.I.C.D.S. track team, working with the discus and javelin throwers and the shot-putters.
