Experience at Work
Lisa advocates for clients facing complex litigation, with a focus on product liability and tort litigation. Her complex litigation experience spans from the inception of litigation to successful resolution, including preparation of pleadings and dispositive motions; preservation, collection, and production of electronically stored information; preparation of and response to written discovery and third-party discovery; identification and development of expert witnesses; conducting fact and expert depositions; presentation of arguments before federal and state judges and discovery special masters; and negotiation of settlement agreements.
Lisa has considerable experience in managing mass tort litigation. She represented a major agribusiness in multi-district litigation filed by nearly 200 plaintiffs arising from commercialization of a herbicide-tolerant seed system. She also successfully defended a major corporation in mass tort litigation filed by 36 plaintiffs who asserted claims of wrongful death, personal injury, and post-traumatic stress disorder arising out of a workplace shooting.
In addition to managing mass tort litigation, Lisa has counseled major agribusiness on minimizing its exposure when commercializing future biotechnology. She has also represented clients in environmental CERCLA actions and commercial litigation.
Prior to entering private practice, Lisa served as law clerk to the Honorable Patricia L. Cohen and the Honorable George W. Draper of the Missouri Court of Appeals.
