Experience at Work
Gary is an experienced trial attorney, primarily representing businesses in litigation matters. Closely held corporations and other business entities seek his counsel in all matters of commercial litigation, including shareholder and internal business disputes. Gary has handled administrative law issues related to professional disciplinary actions for many years.
In 2007, the Missouri Supreme Court appointed Gary to its Regional Disciplinary Committee for Region X. Gary served until January 1, 2016, and was appointed Committee Chair in 2012. He also served for several years as Disciplinary Hearing Officer for the Missouri Supreme Court Advisory Committee.
A founding member of the firm, Gary serves as General Counsel to Capes Sokol. In his role as General Counsel, Gary oversees legal matters, ethics, conflicts, and loss prevention for Capes Sokol.
In the Community
Gary taught advanced trial practice as an adjunct professor of law at Washington University School of Law. He also taught in the school’s pre-trial procedure clinical program.
Gary was a long standing member of the Board of Directors for Jazz St. Louis, a nonprofit organization that promotes jazz and jazz education in the area. In his free time, Gary serves as a Board Member of Habitat for Humanity of Addison County, a nonprofit organization that partners with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing.
Gary was formerly an Administrative Law Judge for the City of St. Louis Civil Service Commission and a Provisional Municipal Judge for the City of St. Louis, Missouri.
