Experience at Work
Ellen joined the firm as a member of Capes Sokol’s 2020 Summer Associate class and continues to work with the firm as a Law Clerk. She works primarily on matters related to complex civil litigation, products liability cases, and employment law. Ellen worked closely with attorneys advising employers on return-to-work protocol in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ellen is a third-year student at Saint Louis University School of Law. She is pursuing a concentration in labor and employment law from SLU Law’s William C. Wefel Center for Employment Law. She serves on the executive board of the ABA Journal of Labor and Employment Law. As a member of SLU Law’s Trial Advocacy Team, she has competed in several statewide and national trial advocacy competitions.
Ellen previously externed in the Eastern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals as a student law clerk.
In the Community
Ellen serves as President of SLU Law’s Women Law Students’ Association, an organization committed to addressing the unique challenges women face in the legal profession. In her leadership role, she organizes speaker series, panel discussions, social events, and networking opportunities designed facilitate friendships within SLU Law and advance law students’ career goals. In addition, she is a member of the Affinity Council at SLU Law, a panel of student leaders who work to improve diversity and inclusion at SLU Law. Ellen is also an admissions ambassador for SLU Law and served as a peer mentor for first year students.
Ellen has worked as a student fellow for the Catholic Legal Assistance Ministry. She served as a translator for Spanish speaking clients, aided attorneys representing indigent clients pro bono, and assisted attorneys representing children’s interests in family court.
