Mark E. Goodman and Gary R. Sarachan Named as Co-Chairs of Litigation Practice Area
(St. Louis, MO) – Mark E. Goodman and Gary R. Sarachan, of Capes, Sokol, Goodman & Sarachan, P.C., have been named as Co-Chairs of the law firm’s Litigation Practice Area.
Mr. Goodman has been engaged in the litigation practice for 34 years successfully representing clients in a variety of disputes and venues. He has significant experience representing clients in personal injury cases in the areas of medical negligence, inadequate security, railroad accidents, and product liability. In addition, he has tried numerous commercial cases in the areas of employment law, patent infringement, contract disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, and investor fraud. He has obtained more than 15 verdicts or settlements in excess of $1,000,000 for clients.
Mr. Goodman holds a B.A. from Northwestern University and a J.D. from Washington University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Missouri and Illinois and in the United States District Courts of Missouri and Illinois, as well as in the Seventh, Eighth, and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals. Mr. Goodman has served as an adjunct professor at St. Louis University School of Law and has frequently lectured for Continuing Legal Education programs both locally and nationally. He is a member of ATLA and MATA.
Mr. Sarachan concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, including shareholder and internal business disputes; personal injury litigation, including products liability and medical malpractice; and, in addition, he has handled numerous serious felony cases. Mr. Sarachan also provides legal representation for a number of closely held corporations and other business entities.
Mr. Sarachan holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University and a J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law. He was commissioned and served as a Provisional Municipal Judge for the City of St. Louis, Missouri in 1980 and 1981. Mr. Sarachan served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Washington University’s School of Law for several years teaching in the pre-trial procedure clinical program. Currently, Mr. Sarachan serves as a Hearing Officer for the City of St. Louis Civil Service Commission, appointed to the position in 2004 by the Mayor of the City of St. Louis.
