Gary R. Sarachan is an experienced trial attorney, primarily representing businesses in litigation matters. A founding shareholder, Mr. Sarachan serves as General Counsel to Capes, Sokol, Goodman & Sarachan, P.C. and co-chairs the firm’s Litigation practice group. He is currently on the firm’s Executive Committee.
Closely-held corporations and other business entities seek Mr. Sarachan’s counsel in commercial litigation, including shareholder and internal business disputes. He has handled administrative law issues related to professional disciplinary actions for many years.
In 2012, the Missouri Supreme Court appointed him as chair to its Regional Disciplinary Committee for Region X. He also serves as a Disciplinary Hearing Officer for the Missouri Supreme Court Advisory Committee. Mr. Sarachan was formerly an Administrative Law Judge for the City of St. Louis Civil Service Commission and a Provisional Municipal Judge for the City of St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Sarachan is an adjunct professor of law at the Washington University School of Law, teaching advanced trial practice. He also taught in the school’s pre-trial procedure clinical program.
Mr. Sarachan is licensed to practice law in all Missouri state and federal courts. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA), the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Legal Committee. Mr. Sarachan also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Jazz St. Louis, a nonprofit organization which promotes jazz and jazz education in the St. Louis area.
