DeBord and Schwartz Join Capes Sokol Litigation Team
Capes Sokol is pleased to announce that Lisa N. DeBord and Aaron E. Schwartz have joined the firm as Associates in the firm’s Litigation practice group.
LISA N. DEBORD
Lisa N. DeBord concentrates her practice in complex litigation involving product liability defense and commercial matters. She has extensive experience in managing mass tort litigation. She represented a major agribusiness in multi-district litigation filed by nearly 200 plaintiffs and successfully defended a major corporation in mass tort litigation filed by 36 plaintiffs who asserted claims of wrongful death, personal injury, and post-traumatic stress disorder arising out of a workplace shooting. Lisa also provides counsel to major agribusiness on minimizing its exposure when commercializing biotechnology.
Lisa received her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her Bachelor of the Arts in History and Political Science from Miami University. Prior to entering private practice, Lisa served as law clerk to the Honorable Patricia L. Cohen and the Honorable George W. Draper of the Missouri Court of Appeals.
AARON E. SCHWARTZ
Aaron E. Schwartz has experience in a broad range of litigation matters. He has represented individuals and companies in litigation involving complex mass torts, discrimination, retaliation, employee benefits, commercial disputes, insurance coverage, and sexual abuse. A seasoned litigator, he has successfully argued before the Missouri Court of Appeals and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Aaron received his law degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia and his Bachelor of the Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. After graduating from law school, Aaron served as law clerk to the Honorable Victor Howard of the Missouri Court of Appeals. Prior to joining Capes Sokol, Aaron developed a diverse practice as a partner at a mid-sized Kansas City area law firm.
