Capes Sokol Receives 2018 Gerald R. Ortbals Law Firm Award
Legal Services of Eastern Missouri “LSEM” will honor Capes Sokol with the Gerald R. Ortbals Law Firm Award at their annual For the Common Good Awards Reception. This award is presented each year to a firm who has shown remarkable dedication and commitment to providing pro bono legal services.

Capes Sokol has been a key pro bono partner with Legal Services for many years, currently working with the Community Economic Development Microenterprise Program. The firm staffs a legal clinic at the Grace Hill Women’s Business Center, and also supports Legal Services by providing annual funding, event sponsorship and other key support.

The For The Common Good Awards Reception is an annual event to recognize the dedication and commitment of individuals, organizations and community leaders who partner with Legal Services to benefit the region.
Capes Sokol Pro-Bono Program
Capes Sokol has a long tradition of providing free or discounted legal services to economically disadvantaged people and the institutions that serve them. We believe it is a lawyer’s obligation and responsibility to engage in pro bono service. We encourage all of our lawyers, regardless of workload, to participate in our Pro Bono Program every year and to treat pro bono matters with the same diligence, compassion, and integrity as any other matter for which he or she is responsible.
