Capes Sokol is proud to be a supporter of Beyond Housing and their annual “Holiday Friends” gift giving program.
Since 2016, Capes Sokol has been taking part in the gift giving program to support families in the St. Louis area. This year, Capes Sokol was proud to “adopt” twenty-two individuals from six different families. Through the generosity of those who participated, the firm was able to delivery eighty-eight gifts to the Beyond Housing headquarters.
“The outpouring of generosity from Capes Sokol was truly amazing and heart-warming,” said John S. Meyer, Jr., Capes Sokol Shareholder and member of the Beyond Housing Board of Directors. “It was a great feeling to be able to deliver so many wonderful gifts and see how many people are involved in the process as a whole. There really is still so much good in this world.”
Every year, Beyond Housing hosts a gift giving program to ensure that low income families that struggle to afford basic living needs, have a little something extra under the tree. Participating individuals or groups “adopt” families and provide them with items such as: shoes, coats, bed linens, etc. In 2017, the “Holiday Friends” program brightened the holidays for 229 families and 575 children.
Since 1975, Beyond Housing has been providing resources and support to St. Louis communities. From purchasing a home to health, education, jobs, and economic development, they are a comprehensive community development organization convening partners and providing leadership.
