Al-Shathir Selected as 2018 Women’s Justice Awards Honoree
Capes Sokol proudly announces that Laura E. Krebs Al-Shathir has been selected as a Missouri Lawyers Weekly 2018 Women’s Justice Awards – General Practitioner Honoree. The award, presented by Missouri Lawyers Weekly, is awarded to, “the woman who, as an attorney, does it all. She handles multiple practice areas with skill.”
About Laura E. Krebs Al-Shathir
As a member of four of the firm’s practice groups, Laura primarily focuses her practice on tax and business and transactional matters. She regularly counsels clients ranging from individuals and small business owners to multi-national corporations, limited liability companies, S corporations and non-profits.
Outside of the law firm, Laura is devoted to a variety of non-profit organizations in the greater St. Louis area and regularly takes on transactional pro bono projects through St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts and Legal Services of Eastern Missouri.
Laura is a member of the Board of Directors and Secretary of Girls in the Know, a member of the Advisory Board of Downtown Children’s Center, a member of the Advisory Board for the University of Missouri–Columbia Tax Law Society, and the current chair of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) Audit Committee.
Laura is a frequent speaker at national American Bar Association Tax Section conferences, speaking on the topic of S Corporations, and she is a co-columnist in the Tax Controversy Corner of the Journal of Passthrough Entities.

Laura is one of the fifty-one female honorees selected statewide for the 20th annual Women’s Justice Awards. She will be recognized with the other honorees on Thursday, May 3 at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown St. Louis. In addition, she will be profiled in a special section of Missouri Lawyers Weekly on April 30.
