Pro Bono

Capes, Sokol, Goodman & Sarachan, P.C. is passionately committed to ensuring access to the legal system and achieving justice for all individuals and community organizations. Through our Capes Sokol Pro Bono Program, attorneys and paralegals are matched with work that suits their interests and creates opportunities for meaningful professional development. Pro bono matters are treated with the same diligence, compassion and integrity that apply to all of the firm’s work. Capes Sokol recognizes team members for their pro bono achievements.

Under the firm’s Pro Bono Program, this work must involve the delivery of legal services to:

  • Persons of limited means or to community, civic, religious, governmental or educational entities in matters which are designed primarily to address the needs of persons of limited means
  • Individuals or organizations dedicated to the protection or securing of civil rights and civil liberties

Capes Sokol has established a committee of shareholders to seek and select challenging opportunities for pro bono work for every firm attorney on an annual basis. To qualify under the program as pro bono work, representation must be undertaken without expectation of payment and not in the course of ordinary commercial practice.
